PURPOSE:To enable sufficient transfer of colored fine particles onto a recording medium and perfect destaticization through the recording medium, by actuating an electrostatic transfer mechanism in a range equal to the width of said medium. CONSTITUTION:The width of a recording medium 6 is detected with a detector 10, a drive mechanism 13 is actuated by its output signal, and a cover 12 is protruded to shield the excess of a discharge wire 11 with the cover 12. Therefore, a receptor 1 is charged within only the width of the medium 6, so a cleaning mechanism is fully functioned by sufficiently carrying out electrostatic transfer within the width of the medium 6 and charging and destaticizing of the surface of the receptor 1. |
