In elastic engine mountings having a damping disc 8 immersed in a damping fluid 6, and movably mounted with axial play between buffer surfaces, the damping disc 8 is constructed in such a way that interfering cavitation phenomena produced in the two surfaces are suppressed. This may be effected by constructing the damping disc 8 with a large number of holes 82, Fig. 1, for the flow of damping fluid distributed over its entire surface; by making the damping disc 8 star- shaped with several vanes 83, Fig. 2a, in the form of truncated segments of a circle distributed at opposing angular spacings about its periphery; or by making the damping disc (8) somewhat dish-shaped with a largely axially flanged edge (84). Small amplitude movements of the mounting take place without damping, the damping disc being entrained only when a certain amplitude of vibration is exceeded. <IMAGE> |
