<p>A scraper chain conveyor having scraper bars (2) secured to a pair of chains running centrally of associated pans. The scraper bars are symmetrical about a central plane and are formed with recessed lands (8) and shoulders (10) to engage with a horizontally disposed link of chain. A retaining plate (20) is secured to each scraper bar with low lands (22) mating with the recessed lands (8) by means of bolts extending through bores (32, 34) penetrating matching faces (26, 28). The bores are inclined at 5 DEG to the direction of motion and the matching faces inclined at 79 DEG to the direction of motion such that tensioning the bolt urges the retaining plate toward the scraper bar to clamp the horizontally disposed chain link between them.</p> |
