摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To take up a material to be rolled while giving always a proper tension to it, by controlling the speed at the exit side of a rolling mill at the time of acceleration so as not to exceed the take up speed of a mandrel, in a rolling mill provided with a coiler at its rear side. CONSTITUTION:The coil diameter of mandrel 4 is always detected by a detector 6 while a material 5 to be rolled is coiled. From the maximum number of revolutions NMAX which is determined by the detected signal DA and the capacity of a motor for driving the mandrel, the maximum take up speed VMAX of the mandrel is calculated by an arithmetic device 7 basing on the equation I (i; gear ratio). On the other hand, there is a relation expressed by the equation IIamong the speed at the exit side of a mill, MRH value, and SSRH value (SSRHn), and from these values, the limiting value MRHL of MRH is calculated by a controlling-value arithmetic device 8 basing on the equation III. An output 1a of a MRH device 1 is limited to MRHL by a limiting device 9 with a signal 8a outputted from the device 8. Thus, when the instructions for a simultaneous acceleration of mills F1-F3 are given by a correcting signal from outside, the output 1a is limited so as not to exceed the calculated value of the device 8 by the device 9.</p>
