<p>A process is described for drying exhaust gases from the drying chamber of a drying oven, in which the exhaust gas (to be dried) from the drying chamber is passed through a filter layer to which a metal oxide situated on a heat-resistant fibre as support adheres as oxidation catalyst component, in order to retain therein (and eliminate from the exhaust gas) tar mist and dust contained in the exhaust gas in question and to catalytically burn flammable organic substances contained in the tar mist and dust in the exhaust gas, and the exhaust gas purified in this manner is returned to the drying chamber.</p> |
