The present invention relates to a space saving type bogie for a railway vehicle. The space saving type bogie for a railway vehicle comprises: a bogie frame which is located in the bottom of a vehicle body; front and rear wheelsets which are installed in the bottom of the bogie frame; and front and rear axle boxes which support front and rear axles to allow the front and rear wheelsets to be rotated. According to the present invention, the space saving type bogie for a railway vehicle reduces the width of the bogie as the bogie frame is located between front and rear wheels by using an inboard method for installing the front and rear axle boxes to support the axles of the wheelsets and front and rear suspensions on the inner sides of the front and rear wheels.
