<p>PURPOSE:To provide a recording liq. excellent in solution stability without producing precipitates over a long term, having superior weatherability and resistance to water, solvent, etc., and well suited to a recording liq. for ink jet recording, etc., by incorporating a particular azo compd. CONSTITUTION:A compd. of formula I (wherein Q is phenylene, naphthylene; at least either one of benzene ring A and naphthalene ring B may be substd. by OH, SO3M, NRR', etc.; M is a base such as alkali metal, ammonium, or amine; R, R' are H, alkyl) is dissolved in water or a mixture of water and an org. solvent (e.g., polyethylene glycol) in a ratio of about 0.5-20wt% to yield the intended recording liq. As group Q, p-phenylene or 1,4-naphthylene group substd. by halogen atom, OH, SO3M, COOM, etc. is pref. Examples of the compd. of formula I are formula II, formula III, etc.</p> |
