REGENERATIVE BRAKING DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC MOTOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To enable the smoothly driving operation of an electric motor vehicle by regeneratively braking the vehicle in cooperation with the release of an accelerator only when the vehicle is within the range of possibility of braking regeneratively. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic phase shift controller 26 controls the conducting time of a chopper circuit 6 in response to the outputs from an accelerator circuit 25 and a current detector 11. A running state detecting circuit 29 sends a signal to a regenerative circuit 30 in case that a signal representing that an accelerator switch 23 is shifted from an open state to a closed state is applied from an accelerator switch detecting circuit 27 when a bypass contactor closing circuit 28 is operated. When a signal representing that the accelerator switch is closed is applied, the circuit 30 operates a relay energizing circuit 18 and operates a weak constant brake force circuit 31. When the brake switch 32 is closed, a strong constant brake force circuit 33 is operated.
