PURPOSE:To manufacture a collet finger of high quality by a simple stage and in a short time, by joining a tip chip made of a sintered alloy to the tip of the body of finger made of a metallic material and finishing the joined material. CONSTITUTION:The body of a finger is formed of a hard metallic material such as ''Inconel''. At the same time, a tip chip is formed separately of sintered self-melting alloy high in wear resistance and corrosion resistance such as Ni- Cr-B-Si alloy. Stepped chip fitting seat 8 is formed at the upper end of the finger body 6, and a tip chip 7 is joined to the fitting seat 8 by brazing, etc. to form a collet finger 4. Plural collet fingers 4 are put together and fastened tightly with dummies 9, 10 of the same shape and finished by polishing. |
