PURPOSE:To make possible mass production of inexpensive unwoven-fabric wick material excellent in fuel absorbing efficiency and rigidity by lapping a short fiber random web layer or such layers on one or both sides of a substrate that needs rigidity. CONSTITUTION:Individual or a mixture of short fabric random web layers 2, 2a of natural fabric or chemical one each of which is a suitable amount is overlappingly arranged on one or both sides of a substrate 1 composed of a metallic net plate. The short fiber random web layers 2, 2a are intertwined by a needle punch mutually with a substrate 1 and integrated into a necessary thickness flat plate to obtain a desired wick material A, which is cut in suitable sizes to be used as a flat wick or a cylindrical one jointed in the cylindrical form. In this manner, it is possible to produce mass production of low cost unwoven fabric wick material excellent in fuel absorbing efficiency and rigidity. |
