PURPOSE:To permit the internal electric field of a porous layer to be applied almost uniformly in the operational state of an actual tube and improve its resolution, picture quality, afterimage, and characteristics by specifying the unevenness of the surface shape of the porous layer. CONSTITUTION:A conductive layer that becomes a signal electrode is formed by vacuum-depositing aluminum approximately at 500 deg.C on the right surface of a nitrocellose film 6 that is made to touch the metal wire surface contour of a metal mesh 1 and whose unevenness of the surface is below 1.5 microns. This layer is heated in nitrogen gas or argon gas atmosphere approximately at 350 deg.C for one hour and the nitrocellulose film is scattered and removed. The unevenness on the surface of an aluminum film 2 is reduced to less than 1.5 microns along the surface contour of the nitrocellulose film. Then the unevenness on the surface of the porous layer 5 of the secondary electron conductive target that is coated with a porous layer before and after 1% of normal bulk density on the right surface of the aluminum film 2 of this metal mesh support body is reduced to less than 1.5 microns along the surface contour of the aluminum film 2. |
