The turbine rotor blades root retainer has the blade roots held radially in axial grooves in the rotor disc. The roots have a packing with an open transverse groove and the disc has, upstream, an open radial groove near the periphery. There are annular plates (9), of a width roughly equal to the distance between the base (10) of the groove (6) in the packing (5) of the root (11) of the circumferential groove (7). There are external crennelations (12) of a depth to extend past the packings and the distance between them is equal to that separating two adjacent axial grooves.
