PURPOSE:To extend life of a photoreceptor, and also to maintain a good picture quality extending over a long period of time, by providing a cleaning roll placed in the vicinity of the photoreceptor and a cleaning blade which is made to press- contact intermittently with the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:A magnet roll 9 rotates at a high speed in a state that a toner is adsorbed on the surface to remove and to attract the toner on a photoreceptor 1. A solenoid 13 operates to make a blade 12 to press-contact with the photoreceptor 1 as soon as the photoreceptor 1 starts in the copying process. After two number of revolution of the photoreceptor 1, the solenoid 13 is degaused to separate the blade 12 from the photoreceptor 1. As a result, the toner filmed on the photoreceptor and the toner which adheres onto the photoreceptor at the time of stop or start, and causes horizontal strip are scraped down by the blade 12, and are attracted to the roll 9. The blade 12 is made to press-contact only temporarily, therefore, the photoreceptor is scarcely damaged by the toner, its life is extended, and also a picture having good quality can be maintained. |
