Roller type route chart holder for motor vehicle - uses dual roller mechanism to pass strip of paper over illuminable surface when operated by driver

The route indicator comprises a holder for a strip of paper with facilities to roll the strip forward or backward and having illumination for night time useage. The route indicator is mounted on the dashboard of a motor vehicle, or on the steering wheel, within easy reach of the driver. The ends of the paper strip (2) are gripped in slots in the winder bobbins (3) placed at opposite ends of the enclosure (1). Knurled knobs (5) are fitted to the ends of the winder bobbins to permit positioning of the paper. The enclosure is mounted to its support by a pivot which allows rotation in a vertical plane when an extended locking screw (8) is released. The mounting bar (6) also carries a battery and lamp bulb, with a switch (11), fitted to the outside of the case, being used to close the lamp circuit.
