The hydrodynamically shaped float (1,2) is used singly or in couples and is designed to transport an individual rider over water, being capable of supporting the rider, and propelled by an oar blade (7) with a hand lever (4). The blade extends below the float and can pivot freely in the vertical plane through the longitudinal axis of the float. A forward mounting of the blade axle (8) causes it to return to the vertical under its self weight, and its oscillation causes the float to move relative to the water. A stop (9) prevents the blade moving beyond the vertical and a rolled over edge (10) facilitates the return stroke. The axle attaches the blade to the foot of a telescopic handled (26) rocking lever (4) itself secured by an axle pin (5) in a longitudinal slot hole (6).
|
