PURPOSE:To enable the easy visual inspection of the content of a vessel by inserting an inspecting device including a viewing cylinder contg. an illuminating lamp, a side viewing mirror and a viewing device through the small nozzle for inspection which is provided beforehand in the shell of the vessel. CONSTITUTION:A cover 8 having a sluice valve 7 is mounted to each nozzle 9 of the right and left end plates 5, 6 of a steam drum 1 to be inspected. To insert an inspecting device 27 into the drum 1, the operator couples a driving part 23 by means of a flange to the valve 7, opens the valve 7, and brigns a gripping cylinder 31 and a viewing cylinder 29 in a straight state into the nozzle 9 by operating the part 23. The holder 33 of the cylinder 29 is pivotally pinned to the cylinder 31 and an illuminating lamp 39 is mounted to the forward end of a cylindrical body 35 fitted freely rotatably to the holder 33. The image in the drum 1 illuminated by the light 39 is projected on a television camera through a mirror 43 and the inside of the drum 1 is inspected 360 deg. by rotating the body 35 in the holder 33. |
