PURPOSE:To obtain a battery which has a greatly increased electric-discharge performance by substituting acetylene black for a part of graphite which is a conductive auxiliary agent contained in the positive mixture, and by adding a given amount of secondary electrolyte, which is prepared by dissolving zinc oxide in an aqueous potassium-hydroxide solution, to the positive mixture. CONSTITUTION:An alkaline manganese battery is primarily constituted of a positive mixture principally consisting of manganese dioxide, a negative electrode made of an amalgamated zinc, and an alkaline electrolyte. In such a battery, acetylene black is substituted for a part of graphite which is used as a conductive auxiliary agent contained in the positive mixture. Here, when the ratio by weight of graphite to acetylene black is in the preferable range of 8:2-2:8, the performance of the battery becomes maximum. |
