<p>The solar or electric/solar installation has solar collectors (10) heating a working fluid which is circulated by a pump (32) to a water heating tank (30), from which the water is drawn (24) for useage. A contactor (32) is used to switch the pump (14), under conditions determined by the nature of the installation. A timer mechanism may be used to operate the pump within set times of the day. A photovoltaic stack may be used to operate the pump while the sun shines (and a battery used to keep the pump running for a time while the sun is not shining). Alternatively, a temp. transducer may be used to measure the temp. of the working fluid and this data used to control the operation of the pump.</p> |
