The wood burning heating boiler has a control for its draught hatch, which comprises a comparison circuit which is connected partly to the boiler temp. indicator, and partly to a maximum value monitor. The circuit determines the difference between an adjusted theoretical value and the probed value on the boiler temp. indicator. A second comparison circuit is connected partly to a smoke gas temp. indicator, and partly to a max. value probing unit, and determines the difference between an adjusted theoretical value and the probed value of the smoke gas temp. The max. value monitor is in turn connected to a level monitor which, dependent upon the probed max. value activated an electric motor which controls the draught hatch. The hatch is moved to the closed position when themax. value exceeds a specific interval, to the open position when the max, value is less than the specific interval, and remains inactivated when the max. value is within the specific interval.
