PURPOSE:To dislay generating distribution of drop-outs to a dislay, by counting the horizontal synchronizing pulses of the video signal produced from a magnetic tape as well as the vertical synchronizing pulses obtained with each field, and obtaining the generating position information of the drop-out on the magnetic tape from count numbers of both pulses. CONSTITUTION:The time for measurement of the drop-out is set to a timer 7, and a microcomputer 6 is started. Thus a VTR5 starts recording and then performed reproduction after recording of a prescribed time. Thus a V counter 8 and an H counter 9 count vertical and horizontal synchronizing pulses VS and HS respectively. When a detector 10 detects a drop-out, the computer 6 reads in the count values of counters 8 and 9 of that moment as well as the count value of a drop-out width counter 11 to store it. Thereafter the storing is carried out successively, and the measurement ends when a prescribed time elapses. Then a display such as an X-Y plotter, etc. is used to plot the generating distribution of drop-outs and to display the distributing situation on the recording paper on the basis of the position information of the stored drop-out. |
