摘要 PURPOSE:To improve ignition accuracy in a control of ignition timing for carrying out knocking feed-back for every cylinder by controlling every cylinder group comprising in combination cylinders in which knocking is difficult or easy to detect. CONSTITUTION:The presence of knocking is detected by each cylinder according to the output of a knocking detecting means, and, and ignition timing correction value is obtained according to the result of the detection to control the ignition timing according to this correction value. In this method is obtained the ignition timing correction value by every cylinder group comprising beforehand in combination cylinders in which knocking is difficult or easy to detect, and the ignition timing is controlled by every cylinder group according to the obtained correction value. For example, when the cylinders having unsatisfactory S/N ratio and the cylinders having satisfactory one are combined to form cylinder groups and control the ignition timing for every cylinder group, the cylinder in which over-advancing angle control and knocking are apt to occur does not determine the ignition timing of all the other cylinders as shown in the drawing. Thus, the knocking can be detected with higher accuracy.
