PURPOSE:To shorten a shift stroke of a synchronizer of a car speed change gear by axially dividing a sleeve inner peripheral groove into two parts by a projection, so that at the time of changing a speed, a projection of a shifting key loosely fitted in the groove is urged by the projection of the groove. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 5 is moved in direction of X1 for a low-speed shift to disengage an inner spline 4 from an outer spline 17, which causes a projection 22 to collide with a projection 11. In such a condition, the frictional engagement between respective taper surfaces 15a, 19a of a synchronizer ring 15 and a spline piece 19 is released. Bt the X1-direction motion of the sleeve 5, the projections 11, 22 collide with each other at respective taper surfaces 11a, 22a, and a shifting key 10 is urged toward a synchronizer ring 14 on low-speed side. The key is brought into contact with the ring 14 to supply initial load to the ring 14, so that the sleeve 5 and the ring 4 are located in the turning direction. Thus, the shift stroke is shortened to reduce a synchronizer to compact size. |
