Electronic flasher unit signal generator for motor vehicles, having in each case two flasher lamps connected in parallel, the flashing frequency of which signal generator changes distinctly if one lamp fails, the reduction in the voltage drop, occurring when a lamp fails, at a measuring resistor through which lamp current flows, serving as a criterion for the frequency change. According to the invention, there is provision for a four-pin resistor (15) which has two terminals (6, 7) for the lamp current and two terminals (8, 9) for the voltage drop to be tapped to serve as measuring resistor. <IMAGE>
