<p>A torsionally stiff flexure support (30) for the slip plate (16) in a vibration apparatus (10) is provided permitting predetermined linear motion along the axis of vibration by longitudinal bending of the flexure support, but by virtue of its torsional stiffness, pivoting movement about the center axis (A-A) of the slip plate is blocked.
