The present invention relates to an electromagnetic contactor, and more specifically, to an electromagnetic contactor with a clamping circuit for preventing a surge voltage generated in a coil when the electromagnetic contactor is opened or closed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the electromagnetic contactor with the clamping circuit comprises: a contact part which includes a stationary contact and a movable contact; a driving part in which a core is moved according to an adjustment of power applied to the coil to open or close the contact part; and a control circuit part which controls the opening or closing of the contact part by adjusting the power applied to the coil. The control circuit part comprises a clamping circuit part which clamps a surge voltage generated in the coil when the electromagnetic contactor is switched from an on-state to an off-state. According to the present invention, when the electromagnetic contactor is switched to the off-state, the clamping circuit clamps the surge voltage of the coil, thereby preventing malfunction or damage of the electromagnetic contactor or a peripheral device. |
