An automatically operating testing machine for the circular pitch testing of gearwheels and, in extension, for simultaneously testing the deviations in the true running of gear teeth, deviations in tooth thickness and deviations in the tooth spaces of the said gearwheels is specified, the circular pitch testing being performed in one measurement revolution simultaneously for right-hand and left-hand tooth flanks of the gear teeth, and it being possible to use the measured values thus obtained likewise to determine the deviations in the true running of the gear teeth, deviations in tooth thickness and deviations in the tooth spaces.
