A brake shoe (11) comprises a lining carrier (12) with a groove (14) to receive a rib of a brake lining (13) which groove (14) is closable at one end by a locking bar (16) which extends transversely of groove (14) is retained in locking position by bolts (18) passing through eyes. The eyes of the bar (16) or of the carrier (12) each have an elongate hole extending perpendicularly to the lining carrier surface to allow movement of the bar (16) and resilient means in the elongate holes cooperate with the bolts to hold the bar in its opening position or locking position. The bar is arranged at the upper end of the brake shoe (11) and between a bolt (24) connecting the shoe with brake levers (25) and the hinge points (20) for suspension straps (21). <IMAGE> |
