Facade facing

A facade facing comprises light-admitting elements which are fitted at a distance from the wall of the building, so that ventilation is possible. The elements may preferably be constructed from impact-resistant plastic, such as for example acrylic glass, polycarbonate or polyester, as are commercially available for other purposes. The fitting of such a ventilated facade has the advantage that on the one hand the heat transition resistance of the entire wall is reduced, but on the other hand ambient heat, whether due to the ambient air or due to solar irradiation, contributes to heating up the wall of the building and consequently improves the energy balance. The facade facing according to the invention consequently combines the advantages of an unfaced solid wall (absorption of ambient energies) with those of a solid wall having an outer facing of highly absorbing materials (high heat transmission resistance).
