PURPOSE:To facilitate the estimation of a sound source position by transmitting an ultrasonic wave for measuring wave height from a wave transmitter at a pinger section at the time zone deviated from that for transmission of ultrasonic wave for measuring wave height. CONSTITUTION:A box 1 houses a control section for controlling the operation time, a recording section for recording data of a wave height, a battery and the like while a box 2 is assembled integrate with a transmitter/receiver housing section 3 of a wave height meter and a pinger section 4 for transmitting an ultrasonic wave for detecting position. The pinger section 4 houses a non- directional transmitter 5 employing a cylindrical piezoelectric element and a box 6 housing a battery for driving it 5. The wave height is observed for a long time while a transmitter/receiver 11 of the wave height meter is controlled with a control section 10. An ultrasonic wave for detecting wave height is transmitted to the sea surface from a transmitter/receiver 12 at a fixed cycle for a fixed time at a preset time interval and a reflected wave received from the sea surface. |
