<p>In order that an adequate quantity of hot air at the required welding temperature is available immediately at the beginning of a welding operation, a heat accumulator block (1), which is provided with an electric heater (3) and in which there are made continuous channel-like bores (5) which are brought into connection with an air or gas supply connecting piece (7) and with pipe connecting pieces (8, 8') for the outlet of the heated air/gas mixture, serves as hot-air or hot-gas generator.
