A material including a drying agent which provides a pH of at least 11 and which becomes at least partially insoluble at a pH below 13.4. This drying agent is selected from a group consisting of carbonates, phosphates and silicates of sodium and potassium and a combination of the hydroxides, carbonates and bicarbonates of sodium and potassium. The material also includes a mold-inhibiting agent selected from a group consisting of acids and acid salts of propionic, sorbic, acetic and carboxylic acids and other fally acids. A water-proofing agent, e.g. sodium-methylsiliconate, and/or a surface-active agent, e.g. alkyl glucoside, is also included in the composition. |
