Apparatus for the stacking of flat articles

An apparatus for the stacking of flat articles, such as tube portions, bags or the like, has two hubs which are arranged at a distance from one another and rotate synchronously about a horizontal axis and which carry at equal angular intervals arms which are radial in a star-shaped manner. The arms are equipped with suction nozzles on their sides at the front in the direction of rotation. Between the arms is located, in the region of the horizontal plane including the axis, a depositing or carrying device for the fed articles which project laterally above the latter to such an extent that their lateral edges pass at least partially through the planes of rotation of the arms. On the side of the axis located opposite the depositing device are arranged, between the planes of rotation of the arms, needle rows which consist of at least two vertically arranged needles which are at distances from the arms. The arms pin onto the needle rows the articles which are taken off from the depositing device and are provided with perforated edges or strips and which are overturned. In order to guarantee a fault-free transfer of the flat articles to be stacked from the arms to the stack-forming needles, the arms (3) also have, on the sides facing one another, suction orifices below the supporting plane defined by two respective interacting arms. The suction orifices located below the supporting plane keep the flat articles essentially taut.
