Slurry dewatering apparatus

A slurry dewatering apparatus (1) designed as a settling cone additionally contains, in its truncated cone-shaped end (3), a filter for the further thickening of the slurry. This additional filter is composed of a perforated metal funnel (10) which, together with the wall of the cone (3), forms a receiving space (12) for a filter bed. In the bottom region of the filter bed, the filtered water is withdrawn through a filter outlet line (14) under pressure control. The pressure drop which is decisive for the action of the filtering effect of the filter arrangement (10, 11, 12) is adjusted so that the layer of thickened slurry formed on the inner side of the metal funnel still remains flowable. The pressure regulation is carried out according to a signal ''x'' representative of the slurry density, which signal is obtained by means of a measuring apparatus (20, 23).
