PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-fixable toner good in fixability and especially superior in offset resistance, by adding a binder made of a vinyl polymer having carboxyl groups cross-linked with a specified alkoxyamine. CONSTITUTION:An amine compd. represented by the formula shown on the right (a, b are 2-4, x, y are 1-50, R is 8-30C straight, branched, or cyclized alkyl), a polymer having COOH groups, such as a copolymer of styrene or butyl methacrylate and maleic acid or the like, a magnetic powder, a colorant, etc. are melted and kneaded on a roll mill, cooled, pulverized, and then classified to obtain a toner. Hydrophobic colloidal silica is attached to the outside of the toner to obtain a developer. Said amine compd. reacts with the COOH groups to cause cross-linking reaction, preventing offset without using an offset inhibitor, and obtaining superior fixability. |
