PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which makes a high-definition, short-period scan by rotating a reflecting plate horizontally and vertically.SOLUTION: An optical scanner is provided with a reflecting plate 18 which rotates at a constant-ratio speed horizontally and vertically. Here, the constant ratio R is represented as R=M/N, where M and N are positive integers and do not have a common divisor other than 1. Further, M and N are integral multiples ±1.
