PURPOSE:To prevent generation of damage of an object to be measured and a measuring machine body, by reading a classification code of a probe, and deciding whether a probe to be used is correct or not. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU62 of a computer 61 retrieves a classification of a probe which is necessary for a measuring process corresponding to a program, from an RAM64, a position data corresponding to its code data is read out, a specified chuck 54 of a probe replacing device 51 is moved to a probe replacing position, and a probe 52 corresponding to the measuring process is installed to a probe holder 50. As a result, a classification code 52B of its probe 52 is read by a read means 57, the CPU62 compares it with a set classification code, and only at the time of coincidence, a three-dimensional measuring machine is controlled by a three-dimensional driving device 66, the measurement is executed, and in case of dissidence, the measurement is not executed but an error is displayed. Accordingly, generation of damage of an object to be measured and the measuring machine body due to use of an erroneous probe is prevented. |
