PURPOSE:To improve corona characreristics and heat dissipation of a coil by first providing an insulating base layer containing a latent curing catalyst on the surface of a conductor of the coil, and then impregnating the base layer with a thermosetting resin only under vacuum, followed by heating under pressure to cure the resin by reaction with the catalyst to thereby effect insulation. CONSTITUTION:Trisacetylacetonatoaluminum and diphenyldimethoxysilane in a weight ratio of 1:1 are dissolved in methyl ethyl ketone to prepare a 5% solution of a latent curing catalyst. After a glass tape is immersed in the catalyst solution, the solvent is evaporated to obtain a tape containing 3wt% catalyst. The tape is wound on a square aluminum material by half, and impregnated with an epoxy resin under a vacuum of 0.1mm.Hg at 40 deg.C. The tape is heated at 130 deg.C under a pressure of 5kg/cm<2> and held for ten hr at 170 deg.C in a thermostatic chamber to cure the resin, thereby obtaining an excellent insulating film. |
