PURPOSE:To measure simply and inexpensively the accurate aspiration flow rate, by flowing spirally inflow air along the inner wall of a sensor and providing with a thermocouple detecting the variation of temperature of this air current as the variation of voltage. CONSTITUTION:An inlet part 3 of an air flow sensor is provided so that inhaled air is flowed to a tangential direction along the inner wall of a main body 2. Detection terminals 4a, 4b of a thermocouple 4 are arranged in the vicinity of the inner wall and central part, and the thermoelectromotive force is measured by a voltmeter 5. The air flowed from the part 3 is flowed spirally along the inner wall of the body 2 and is flowed out from an outflow opening 6a. At this time, the pressure is high at the inner wall and is low at the center and the temperature is raised at the inner wall and is lowered at the center by the adiabatic change. The value of the measured voltage is shown in proportion to the flow rate of air by measuring the thermoelectromotive force generated owing to the temperature difference by the voltmeter 5 because the temperature is varied in accordance with the flow rate of the air. For this reason, simple and inexpensive measurement of the flow rate can be performed. |
