PURPOSE:To enhance the mechanical strength of a rotary electric machine by replacing a layer of the part of the portion projected outwardly from the vicinity of the end face of a rotor core of a slot insulator made of a plurality of synthetic resin layers reinforced with glass fiber by and insulating films. CONSTITUTION:A slot insulator 4 which insulates between a rotor coil and a rotor core 1 is constructed by superposing a plurality of unit sheet layers 8 made of synthetic resin reinforced with glass fiber such as glass filament 8a. A layer of the part of the layers 8 of the part 11 projected outwardly from the end face 10 of the rotor core 1 of the insulator 4 and the part slightly inserted into the slot 2 from the end face 10 is replaced by insulating film 9. In this manner, the thickness of the insulator 4 can be reduced, thereby improving the withstand voltage, mechanical strength and heat conductive characteristic. Further, the vicinity of the end face 10 of the core which can be feasibly damaged becomes by the film 9 strong against an impact force. |
