<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the coil break of a strip without any influence on operation and maintenance in a rolling device which applies tension to the strip and has a mechanism for measuring tension by providing a device for measuring tension to a bridle roll. CONSTITUTION:A bearing arm 10 having integrally the roll 9 nearest the mill 6 in a bridle roll group 8 which applies tension to the strip 7 on the inlet side of the mill 6, and the tension of the strip 7 which acts on the roll 9 is converted to the turning force of the roll 9 with a load cell 14 between the arm 10 and a supporting frame 12 so that the turning force of said roll is exerted on the cell 14. The tension of the strip 7 on the inlet side of the mill is thus measured with the group 8 itself.</p> |
