PURPOSE:To provide a stabilized separator by bringing a synthetic resin film in contact with a mixture solution comprising acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, water, and metal salts, and irradiating ionized radiation to graft polymerize them. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin film such as polyethylene is brought into contact with a mixture solution comprising acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid, water and metals such as mohr's salt, then gamma-rays of Co<60> which is ionized radiation is irradiated them to graft polymerize. They are washed to remove homopolymer, nonreacting monomer, and dried to obtain a graft film. Since only solvent having nonswelling property against polyethylene is used, homopolymer is rarely contained in the inside of the graft film. Therefore, a separator having strong mechanical strength, good uniformity and stability is obtained. |
