PURPOSE:To ensure an invariably accurate detection of even a dilute sample gas by mixing a sample gas with a gas of different type easily with a device for adding a gas of different type assembled in a passage between a sample introducer and a detector or mounted on the detector. CONSTITUTION:As a gas storage device 2 is opened, a helium gas moves toward a detector 5. With the opening of the gas storage device 2, a gas of different type such as hydrogen gas is added to the gas with a device 7 for adding a gas of different type. While a carrier gas and the gas of different type are flowing through a passage 1, 1-5ml of a sample gas such as atmospheric gas introduced with a sample introducer 3. When passing through the device 7 for adding the gas of different type, the sample gas is mixed with the gas of different type easily. The gas of different type is used with respect to the sample gas at a rate of approx. 10ppm per ppm. As the sample gas used is limited in the amount, the concentration of the mixed gas is almost the same as that of the gas of different type, the concentration which makes the normal detection possible with the detector. |
