PURPOSE:To set cutting conditions ideally according to the thickness of a material to be cut in consumable electrode type water jet cutting, by changing the feed rate of an electrode wire in accordance with the change in cutting current. CONSTITUTION:Cutting current I is first detected and is compared with a set value I0 of the cutting current, then an output P which determines the number of revolutions of a feed motor 8 is outputted in the stage of cutting with a consumable electrode type water jet. The value P is set at such a value at which the number of revolutions of the motor 8 is increased if the I is larger than the I0 and the number of revolutions of the motor 8 is decreased if the I is smaller than the I0. The P+P0 obtained by adding the value P and the set input P0 of the motor 8 is inputted to the motor 8. The number of revolutions of the motor 8 can be changed by the above-mentioned method according to the change in the thickness of the material to be cut, whereby the feed speed of the electrode wire is changed and the optimum cutting conditions can be obtained. |
