PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphorus recovery apparatus and method which can efficiently recover phosphorus as a resource without increasing treatment cost of organic wastewater treatment.SOLUTION: A phosphorus recovery apparatus 1 including a phosphorus crystallization tank 2 for crystallizing and recovering phosphorus from phosphorus-containing water under addition of a crystallization auxiliary agent and a pH adjusting agent comprises: a phosphorus adsorption tank 3 that includes a phosphorus adsorbent and receives supply of discharge water from the phosphorus crystallization tank 2; an alkali auxiliary agent supply mechanism 4 that supplies an alkali auxiliary agent to the phosphorus adsorption tank 3 and recovers the alkali auxiliary agent having desorbed the phosphorus adsorbed on the phosphorus adsorbent; and a pH adjusting agent supply mechanism 5 that supplies the alkali auxiliary agent recovered by the alkali auxiliary agent supply mechanism 4 to the phosphorus crystallization tank 2 as the pH adjusting agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
