PURPOSE:To increase dimensional stability by graft polymerizing monomer to a synthetic film and drying them after placing a sheet having nonsmooth surface and gas permeability on the surface of a separator in wet condition. CONSTITUTION:When monomer is graft polymerized with a solution containing monomer having dissociation group to manufacture a battery separator, after completing polymerization or converting polymer portion, the film is washed, and a sheet having nonsmooth surface and gas permeability such as filter paper or nonwoven fabric is brought into contact with one surface or both surfaces of the film in wet condition and dried to manufacture a separator. Since a polymer film is set and dried in extended condition with washing water absorbed, swalling and expansion of the separator is suppressed, dimension is stabilized. Therefore, defective caused by swelling is removed, and performance is increased. |
