PURPOSE:To efficiently oxidize and purify harmful components of HC, CO, etc. in exhaust, by opening a exhaust purifying secondary air ports in the vicnity of an exhaust turbine inlet of a supercharger and utilizing pulsation of the exhaust to introduce sucked secondary air. CONSTITUTION:At operation of an engine, if an exhaust valve 8 is opened and closed to generate exhaust pulsating pressure in an exhaust system Ex, this pulsating pressure gas flows in through secondary air supply passages 25, 25 to act on reed valves 26, 26 and open these valves. In this way, clean air from an air cleaner Ac is attractively introduced into an exhaust passage 10 through a secondary air extracting device 29, each reed valve 26 and the passages 25 and mixed with exhaust to harmlessly change a harmful component of HC, CO, etc. While secondary air in said passage 25 is introduced into the passage 10 via secondary air ports 24 in the vicinity of an inlet of an exhaust turbine T. In consequence, the secondary air immediately enters the turbine T and is mixed with exhaust gas to promote oxidizing reaction of HC, CO in the exhaust. |
