PURPOSE:To display a KANA (Japanese syllabary) string of a homonym together when there is the homonym and to facilitate calibrating operation, by storing KANA character string data on a word to be converted into KANJI (Chinese character) temporarily during initial input operation. CONSTITUTION:The code discrimination part 9 of a control part 1 discriminate a KANA string to be converted into KANJI in a character string sent out from the keyboard 2 of a Japanese input device and stores the character string in a buffer part 10 temporarily. For KANJI conversion, the control part 1 retrieves a KANA-KANJI conversion dictionary file part 4 on the basis of the character string stored in the buffer part 10 to obtain a corresponding word code string when the input KANA character string data string coincides with some KANA index. When there is a homonym, it is also taken out together and the character code string obtained from the file part 4 is sent to a character font memory part 6 together with the character string data stored in the buffer part 10; and data which need not be converted is sent to a data memory part 8, displaying a KANJI and KANA mixed sentence on a display 7. |
