Folding and stacking device for sacks, bags or the like, which is preferably used in combination with a production machine from which the sacks or bags are ejected in bundles with their ends bent over in the same direction, in which device there is arranged above the stack-transporting conveyor (6) a turning device (3) formed from a number of forks (7) which carries out, in a controlled manner, forward and backward tilting movements of 90 DEG or 180 DEG and takes a bundle between its forks, either turning it through 180 DEG and allowing it to be conveyed further or only executing a movement of 90 DEG , holding the bundle in this position until one or more of the following bundles have passed through underneath it unturned and then tilting through a further 90 DEG in a controlled manner before releasing the bundle, which has now been turned, so that it can be transported further, again in a controlled manner, to the folding device (5), which is provided on both sides with a folding plate which can be tilted through 180 DEG and is to be guided under the particular end of the bundle to be folded over, and with a folding bar which is to be lowered onto the bundle at the folding point and about which the bundle end is turned over, and the bundle, which can also be passed through the folding device unfolded, then passes into a stacking device (4) of conventional design, where the bundles are stacked either with an alternating arrangement of folded and unfolded bundles or with only unfolded bundles lying on top of one another and offset in alternate directions by in each case at least one bottom width, and then, when the stacks of bundles are complete, they are transported to the binding or packaging station. <IMAGE> |
