PURPOSE:To prevent the crosstalk from adjacent tracks, by reproducing information with a reproducing head which has a width narrower than the width of tracks on a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing head 7 which has a width WH narrower than a width WT of a track 3 on the magnetic recording medium is used to reproduce a magnetic recorded signal of the track 3. Thus, the crosstalk from adjacent tracks 5 is prevented even if the reproducing head 7 is shifted to a position 8 or 9, and requirements of the tracking precision are relaxed. In case of the 2- track system, the width WH of reproducing heads 14 and 15 is made narrower than the width WT of the track, and a length DT between center lines of tracks is made shorter than a length DH between centers in the breadthwise direction of reproducing heads 14 and 15, thereby attaining the same effect as the single track system. |
