PURPOSE:To constitute a head for recording and reproducing, by butting one of both ends of a wide U-shaped core, where a coil is wound, and that of a narrow similar core to each other through a magnetic gap material and butting two auxiliary cores to said both cores. CONSTITUTION:One of both ends of a wide U-shaped core 1 where a coil 6 is wound and that of a narrow core 3 where a coil 7 is wound are butted to each other through a magnetic gap material 9. Auxiliary cores 8 and 8 are butted to one end of the core 1 through the magnetic gap material 9, and they are butted to the core 3 overall through a magnetic gap material 10. At a recording time, the gap 9 formed by cores 1, 3, and 8 is used to impress a signal through the coil 6; and at a reproducing time, only the magnetic gap between cores 1 and 3 is used to read out the signal from the coil 7. Thus, the polishing face is reduced in the production, and the head for recording and reproducing where the characteristics for reproducing is excellent is constituted. |
